GREAT CONTENT IDEAS FOR PUBLISHERS IN AFFILIATE MARKETING

If you already have a website, you have a large social media following, or you’d like to become a publisher, you’ll want to read our latest blog post. This week, we’re on hand with some top tips on creating great content ideas as a publisher. It’s easy enough to generate links and earn commission through affiliate marketing, but, if your content isn’t of a quality standard, you might not be getting the most out of your platform. Firstly, we’ll start with three rules every publisher should follow before we hit you with plenty of ideas to work with.

The Golden Rules

1. Find your niche

First and foremost, you should find a niche for your website. If you become an ‘expert’ on one topic, your readers are more likely to trust you. If you’re trying to cover everything and anything on your website, you’re almost certainly setting yourself up to fail. Sure, it can be done, but if you want to put out quality content that will resonate with your readers, you’ll need a whole team of content creators that have different interests.

2. Choose quality over quantity

Although you might be tempted to churn out as much content as possible packed full of affiliate links, you should always favour quality over quantity. When it comes to the world of affiliate marketing, audiences have become savvier than ever. Authenticity goes a long way.

3. Mix it up

Once you’ve found your niche and you’re publishing quality content, you’ll soon see what works and what doesn’t. With that said, it’s still good to mix things up to keep your audience engaged. We’re not referring to the contents as such, rather the delivery. Think blog posts, reviews, buying guides, videos and using social media to your advantage.

So, now that you know the three golden rules to stick to, it’s about time we dished out some of our ideas. We’re big on sharing here at Conversion Digital so, we’re going to give you five ideas for great content.

Content Ideas

1. Review multiple products

If you’re continuously putting out single product reviews, it becomes pretty clear that you’re trying to sell it. Whereas if your review says 10 similar products honestly, your readers are likely to find a lot more value in that. Plus 10 affiliate links in one article is more valuable to you than 1.

2. Create how-to tutorials

If you want your readers to see genuine value in your content, your goal should be to help them. Whether it be to make informed purchases or make their life easier. Depending on your niche, tutorials can become invaluable pieces of content. Think cooking tutorials, makeup videos, hair styling tips. Tutorials are an interactive way of creating extremely sharable content.

3. Talk about what you love, but also what you don’t like

If you only publish posts and reviews based on products you love, readers may start to question how much they can trust your opinion. If your website or platform is based around reviews, you really do need to feature the good, the bad and the ugly. Don’t be afraid, to be honest, it can work wonders.

4. Call in the experts

If you want to try something different, how about calling in an expert in your niche? Bonus point if you choose an expert with a decent following that will likely drive a lot of traffic to your platform.

5. Start a book club

Building an engaged audience can be somewhat of an uphill battle. So, sometimes you need to think outside the box. Choosing great books within your niche and encouraging your audience to read them opens the doors for regular discussion. Regular discussion = increased engagement. It’s not a quick fix, but when done correctly, it can really work.

If you follow our three golden rules and try out some of our tips, you’ll be creating quality content that resonates with your audience in no time at all.
